We played Mr X with 1a. Everyone closes their eyes and the teacher taps quietly on a catcher's shoulder. They catch their classmates, who don't know they are the catchers!
We spent our sport lesson in the garden with 1c and started with a scavenger hunt game, blindfolded. One child hid a ball or other toy while the other gave instructions with 'left', 'right' or 'straight' to help them find it.
At 4b we sat in a story circle and listened to the story of the Little Red Hen who planted wheat and made bread from it. She did not share the bread with her fellow animals on the farm. Was she right to not share? We talked about it but could not agree.
At 3c, we drew a picture of our dream home, dictated to us using words such as windows, door, roof, chimney, garden path and pond. We then coloured our dream home with our colour pencils.
At 4a, we tasted some British sweets and treats from the British store in the fourth district. We had caramel biscuits, cream filled biscuits and crisps with different flavours including salt and vinegar, roast beef, pickled onion and plain. They tasted good!
At 2a, we made paper daffodils and learned the ‘I like the daffodils’ song. We are happy it is springtime!
At 3a we had an English breakfast. We tasted Marmite, baked beans and orange marmalade. Most of us did not like the Marmite. Some of us liked the baked beans. Almost all of us liked the orange marmalade. Now we know what children eat in Great Britain!
We did a step by step drawing of a clown holding balloons for Fasching at 2c. It was a good chance to talk about proportions, for example, how big the head is compared to the body and how long the legs are as compared to the body.
At 1a, we played the octopus game and waved our arms like tentacles to catch whoever got too close to them. It was fun!
At 2b, we learned the days of the week so we can sing along to the song by Eric Carle. It is called ‘Today is Monday’ and here we are holding up each day of the week in time with the song.
We at 4c, wrote a letter to Santa asking for a present. In our letter we explained why we deserve a present.
